By working closely with the Government of Burundi and other stakeholders, BECP influences the development and implementation of child-centered laws, policies, and programs. Our advocacy efforts aim to create an enabling environment where every child’s well-being is protected and promoted.
BECP advocates for strong social protection systems that safeguard children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. We work with families, communities, and government agencies to promote social inclusion and ensure that vulnerable children receive the care and protection they need.
Through collaboration with schools, educators, and policymakers, BECP supports initiatives that enhance early childhood education (ECE) quality and accessibility. We promote innovative, play-based learning approaches that stimulate children’s curiosity, creativity, and cognitive development.
BECP promotes health education, access to healthcare, and early interventions to reduce preventable diseases and improve child survival rates. Our initiatives complement national health programs such as free healthcare for children under five and maternal health services — ensuring that every child gets the best start in life.
We strengthen the capacity of local organizations, educators, and caregivers to deliver quality early childhood services. By investing in people and institutions, we ensure that communities are better equipped to support the holistic development of young children.
Together with our partners and communities, BECP is building a foundation for lifelong learning, health, and well-being.
We believe that investing in early childhood development is investing in Burundi’s future — one child, one family, and one community at a time.
